Nebraska Specialized Telecommunications Equipment Program (NSTEP) is a program that provides free equipment for Nebraska residents with qualifying disabilities that interfere with the use of the telephone. Residents who are experiencing difficulty using their current telephone equipment are encouraged to apply to receive assistive equipment through the NSTEP.

The program is offered as an outreach service of the Nebraska Public Service Commission in partnership with the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Training and equipment installation are provided at no charge.
